The euphoria of being a part of the K-family, the eagerness to meet its past, present and future, fantastic music, great food and ambience -all made for a wonderful string of parties. Sangam 2007, the annual IIMK Alumni- Fresher’s meet, was held on 26th and 27th May 2007 across 6 cities- Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. TCS was the Gold sponsor for this event which was attended by alumni right from the first batch to the ninth batch, making it a truly memorable affair. Sangam 2007 was a sneak peek into the life and culture of IIMK. The events began with the seniors extending a hearty welcome to the freshers. The incoming batch questioned their seniors and alumni on life at K, their industry experiences. This was followed by a flash presentation about the phenomenal growth story of K and its unique initiative with regards to the social concerns of the backward classes. Strikingly beautiful images of K, rendered through a flash presentation, struck a nostalgic cord with the alumni and the freshers could not wait to get to Kampus to get a first hand glimpse themselves. On a more serious note, representatives from the Manjunath Trust were also invited to the meets. They conducted an informative session on the ‘Right to Information Act’ (RTI) and spoke about how the IIMs are taking the initiative to bring to justice certain issues by creating awareness and helplines. Finally, when it was time to bid adieu, the alumni took home a beautiful calendar with pictures of their alma mater. With this came the end of an eventful evening filled with loads of fun, information sharing, new contacts and friends formed in just a couple of hours!
