Sunil Handa An Entrepreneur Visiting Faculty, IIMA Alumni of IIMA and BITS, Pilani
Only 30 best students of IIMA get to take his course every year. This makes the course he teaches, one of the most coveted courses on their campus. He has mentored many of the biggest entrepreneurs in India today. List of his students include Rashmi Bansal, Chetan Bhagat, Founder of Renuka Sugar Mills and so on.
He is famous for his innovativeness and out-of-box thinking and has been mentioned in many articles.
His association with IIMK goes back many years when he had visited both our old and new campuses. LEM (Laboratory for Entrepreneurial Motivation) was in fact the first class that was held on our new "K"ampus. In 2007, he was in IIMK for LEM Workshop and he talked about entrepreneurship being a challenging and an extremely rewarding career option. A few crispy quotes from the session are mentioned below:-
"B-School students dont become entrepreneurs because entrepreneurship se fat thi hai..."
"Be an entrepreneur and stop thinking about ways to save Rs. 50,000 of tax. Count crores"
"Entrepreneurship is orgasmic!!!"
"If you have cracked CAT, you have mastered the art of being ruthless. You are now ready to become an entrepreneur"
"People get into placement committee thinking they are making contact with HRs of various companies. They are fooling themselves"
"Dont encourage others to get into entrepreneurship. We entrerpreneurs do need 'naukars' to work for us..."
"There were only 3 people common in the lists of Top 10 then and Top 10 now. The reason was opting for entrepreneurship by some"
It was the most entertaining and interactive session on "K"ampus. The insights students gained from the session were immense and were very helpful in shaping business ideas. Though he only talked about money, ruthlessness, negotiation skills, he himself is the founder of a no-profit, no-loss endeavor - EKLAVYA school. All throughout his lecture, he asked entrepreneurs to start as early as they can. "Else it would never be the right place, never be the right economic scenario, you will never have enough money or enough resources to start a business." Comments (0)
