HRiday along with Team Horizons organized the HR summit on October 7, on the third and final day of the annual management conclave of IIM K, Horizons 2007. It had a panel discussion on the topic “Emerging trends in Strategic HR” under a broader theme of “Bharat, Ek Khoj”. The event saw speakers across various different domains and backgrounds giving their views and insights on the topic. The speakers included Mr. Narayanan Nair, VP - HR, Mphasis; Mr. Sheen Sunny Akarra, Director, Resource Management, Deloitte Consulting and Mr. Balasubramaniam, retired head clerk and Union leader at State Bank of India who is also a teacher of disciplinary procedures in trade union colleges.

HRiday, the HR Interest group at IIM Kozhikode, came into existence owing to the keen interest of students in the field of Human Resources. The objective of this group is knowledge sharing, industry interaction and promoting the field of HR. As the name suggests, HRiday wants to convey the message that the Human Resource function is like the heart of every organization. It’s where you can tell your people that you care. HRiday conducts weekly sessions on a gamut of HR related topics – from balanced score card to predictors of success in the software industry to models of competency mapping. Faculty, members of the industry and students alike participate in these sessions. HRiday is also a forum for students who have HR-related work experience to share it with others. HRiday also maintains a HR knowledge repository.
