HRiday, the HR Interest group at IIM Kozhikode, came into existence owing to the keen interest of students in the field of Human Resources. The objective of this group is knowledge sharing, industry interaction and promoting the field of HR. As the name suggests, HRiday wants to convey the message that the Human Resource function is like the heart of every organization. It’s where you can tell your people that you care. HRiday conducts weekly sessions on a gamut of HR related topics – from balanced score card to predictors of success in the software industry to models of competency mapping. Faculty, members of the industry and students alike participate in these sessions. HRiday is also a forum for students who have HR-related work experience to share it with others. HRiday also maintains a HR knowledge repository.
Some of the events conducted by HRiday this year include  22 years of work experience in the industry shared with students how the Human Resource processes differ for a public sector organization like NTPC from private players. He also shared insights into how NTPC has been able to curb its attrition rate. There was also a lecture by Mr. Kashinath, former Head HR, Ramco Corporations and now runs his own organization consultancy. He shed light on careers in HR and how to go about making your choices. He also shared with students his career path. Prof D P Sinha conducted a session on Balance score card as a strategic tool for measuring performance. He talked about the relevance of the tool to HR managers. Comments (5)
