The Industry
Interaction Cell (IIC) acts as the link that connects IIM Kozhikode to the corporate
world. IIC provides the platform wherein students, academia, industry magnates
and leaders from all walks of life come together and share ideas. Through its
various initiatives round the year, IIC ensures that the budding managers stay
in touch with the real world, while honing their skills in the classrooms.
Entrusted with all non-placement industry-related activities at IIM Kozhikode,
IIC is committed to forging a long-term symbiotic relationship between the
institution and the industry.
IIC provides
plenty of opportunities to the student community at IIM K to test their
business acumen through Live Projects offered in various domains. It allows
them to have a first-hand experience of the business issues faced by organisations.
We have associated ourselves with the likes of HUL, Desta Global, Spencer’s,
Elara Capital, UTI Mutual Fund, Knowledge-Faber, SAP, Wipro Consulting to name
a few. For students who want to sail through the untested waters of the start ups,
IIC recently associated itself with the likes of TagNpin and Online Prasad (recently
covered in yourstory.in) to provide students with an enriching experience through
Live Projects.
IIC also
organises Horizons, the flagship annual management conclave of IIMK. The
conclave takes place for three days in the month of November wherein each day attempts
to capture varied perspectives of academicians, corporate
titans and policymakers; trying to align their ideas and views with ours.
Apart from
Horizons, IIC also organises year round workshops and guest lectures from the
industry practitioners along with the Leadership Talk series, a year round
series of lectures from industry leaders. Through this initiative IIMK has
witnessed the presence of speakers like Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Late Prof C.K.
Prahlad, Dr. D. Subba Rao, Dr. J.J. Irani, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Dr. Harsh
Mariwala to name a few.
From the month
of September, 2012-13, we have undertaken a new initiative called “Industry
Deep Dive” where in we will arrange a quarterly conclave on a particular
industry sector. It will witness participation from industry experts, academia
and the student community to brainstorm on
the prevalent issues and to keep themselves in sync with the on-going industry
developments.
