The Industry Interaction Cell (IIC) at IIM Kozhikode is intended to be the face of the Institute to the industry. It aims to facilitate the process of close industry-institute interaction and actively promoting fresh avenues for the same. Students learn more when they interact with people who have been there-done that, than learning from the text books. It is with this belief that the Industry Interaction Cell (IIC) at IIMK strives to enhance industry interaction with students and bridge the gap between academia and corporate world. IIC invites thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, executives and policy makers to address students thereby facilitating practical learning.
Corporate Linkage Programme

The Corporate Linkage Programme (CLP), first of its kind across the Indian Institutes of Management, acts as a medium to bring the industry and academia on a single platform to explore their mutual interests. It serves to create and foster an ecosystem for contemporary management research by directly partnering the corporates with post doctoral researchers and consultants at IIM Kozhikode, enabling the institute to bridge the research gap with its peers. Also, this programme is an ideal forum for increased interaction between students, faculty and corporates, thereby increasing the brand visibility of IIM Kozhikode.Under this programme, several avenues of partnership have been institutionalized, a few of them being
  • Horizons - The IIC organises and coordinates 'Horizons', the flagship management conclave of IIM Kozhikode.
  • Leadership Series - This involves a series of year-round talks by eminent personalities hailing from all walks of life, people who have proven their mettle as leaders.
  • Workshops and talks - The IIC organizes management workshops and talks by industry practitioners for the benefit of the student community throughout the academic calendar.
  • Industry projects  -  An initiative being pursued by the IIC whereby students of IIM Kozhikode would get the opportunity to work on live projects.

Horizons - The Annual Management Conclave

Horizons, the flagship management conclave of IIM Kozhikode, serves the purpose of being a conclave for eminent thinkers to discuss relevant and contemporary issues.

A regular feature since the year 2000, Horizons has been a great success in the past with overwhelming participation from industry, B-schools, academia, media and leaders from all walks of life.

Spanning a three day period, participants are exposed to a gamut of activities, including case-study competitions, paper presentations, management games and intense workshops, in addition to the seminars that form the crux of the entire series.

Over the years, Horizons has served as the ideal platform for thought leaders - past, present and future - to hear out and debate on the changing facets of India and the world. The editions so far have covered themes on topics ranging from ‘Looking East - Redefining Global Dynamics’, ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’, and ‘Climate Change and its Impact on Developing Economies’ to ‘The Dawn of an Indian Century’ and from ‘Impact of the IPRs on Indian traditional knowledge’ to ‘The China India Effect – Is it for real?’ Some of the distinguished speakers who have been part of this forum include Mr. Kiran Karnik, Mr. D Shivakumar, Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan, Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Mr. Saugata Gupta, Dr. Chandan Mitra, Mr. O P Bhatt, Mr. Homi Khusrokhan and Mr. Suhel Seth.
