One important area where SSG has employed the funds obtained from the Meal-a-Month scheme is in helping poor children studying in primary level government schools. The needy students in these schools are identified with the help of the school authorities. We have provided an education kit comprising 1 school uniform, 1 umbrella, 2 notebooks, 1 pencil-box, 1 eraser and 1 sharpener to each one of the identified students. So far two schools have been covered, which are the Government Lower Primary School, Chatamangalam and AMLPS Kunnamangalam with 45 and 25 students being benefitted respectively. In the near future, SSG plans to expand the reach of this program and organize it on a larger scale so as to cover as many needy children as possible.
