SANGRAM
Sangram is titanic battle between the two of the top notch B-schools of the country, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Bangalore. This annual event gives an opportunity for students from both institutes to display their might across 13 sports events. At stake is the pride and honour of both premier institutes. Emotions rule the roost and the quest to excel subdues all other emotions. Last year, the event was held at IIM Kozhikode and received a tremendous response. About 180 students from IIM Bangalore turned up for this event. The event turned out to be the most memorable event of the year with blogs of students from both institutes expressing the passion and emotions imprinted by the competitions. Quite a few nail-biting moments also found their way into the yearbooks of those who had participated in Sangram 2007. This year’s Sangram is scheduled to be held at IIMB from January 18th to 20th, 2008.
VAEVICTUS
This is the Annual Inter Hostel Sports Championship, a welcome respite from the hectic academic programme. All hostels vie for the coveted trophies and the championship in totality. This act as a platform to get the sportsperson out of each student of IIM K. VAEVICTIS 25 events including events like Independence Day run, Tug Of War and regular sports.
FACE-OFF
The annual Inter Batch sports championship tests the skills of the junior PGP batch against the experienced senior PGP batch. This event brings together the entire student body thus developing a sense of camaraderie as well as a competitive spirit between the juniors and seniors. This event again brings out the best sports talent within the campus, providing an insight into shaping a formidable team for IIMK in different sport events for Sangram.
WAR OF THE WORLDS
The first edition of NIT Calicut—IIMK sports meet is scheduled to kick off this year. It will be held once a year, testing the might of budding engineers against gritty management graduates. It will also serve as a teaser of the blood-thirsty event that Sangram is, reminding IIMK sportsperson to perfect their shots. With this event, we also hope to strengthen IIMK’s relationship with NIT Calicut.
Sports at IIMK is a year round activity, there is something for everone. During events, be it inter college or inter hostel passions run high and yes, things do get wild!
